Tool kits
Australian Apprentices/employers have a 12-month claim period to obtain their tool kit.
Tool kits can contain one or more tools or items of equipment/clothing suitable to the Australian Apprentice and the trade.
You can choose items such as:
trade tools
a tool box
reference books/training manuals
protective clothing/uniforms
footwear
The voucher card is not redeemable for cash or gift certificates and cannot be used for disposable or consumable products (items that can only be used once).
If you’re unsure about which items can or cannot be purchased as part of the Tools For Your Trade tool kit, contact the TFYT team on Monday to Friday, between 8.00 am and 7.00 pm Melbourne time, who’ll be happy to help.
Due to the cessation of the Tools For Your Trade voucher initiative, all vouchers will need to be exchanged for tool kits on or before 31 October 2009.
Important:
Tool kit contents can only be bought using the voucher card issued by Tools For Your Trade. The option of reimbursing employers for the purchase of tool kits is not available.
Initial voucher cards are valid for three months from the date of issue and can only be used to purchase tools for the Australian Apprentice named on the card, provided that he/she is still employed by the employer when the purchase is made. Replacement voucher cards are only valid for one month from the date of reissue.
The voucher card must not be used if the Australian Apprentice has completed his/her apprenticeship, ceased working for the employer named on the voucher or if the Australian Apprentice is on suspension.
