How does the voucher Initiative work?

Employers of Australian Apprentices who have undertaken an 'eligible trade' are automatically sent a form once their apprentice has completed the first three months of their apprenticeship.

When the form has been properly completed and returned, if eligible, the employer will receive a Tool Kit Purchase Pack – including an $800 voucher card which can be presented to any of the 7000-plus tool suppliers registered with the Tools For Your Trade voucher initiative.

All vouchers must be exchanged for tool kits on or before 31 October 2009. All Purchase Verification Forms must be returned to Tools For Your Trade before 31 December 2009.

The option of reimbursing employers for the purchase of tool kits is not available under this Initiative. The tool kits may only be purchased using the voucher card issued by the Tools For Your Trade team.
